Foodie Pen Pals – August

This is my 2nd month as a foodie pen pal and I have to say…it is so dang FUN receiving goodies on your doorstep every month!

This time around, I was paired up with Sally, who blogs over at Such Great Bites. Stop by and give her blog a high-five.

Side note: My foodie pen pal for the month was Rachael, who blogs over at Rubber Cowgirl. Wanna see what I mailed to Rachael this month?  Head over to her blog and check out her Foodie Pen Pals post!

Sally….you rock my world.

This girl seriously knows how to shop!  I absolutely LOVED this box of food. Check out all of the great stuff I got!

  1. Mojo and Luna bars. These are awesome to have on-hand as a mid-morning snack or for some energy before a post-work long run.
  2. Trader Joe’s Pineapple Salsa. I know EXACTLY what we’ll be doing with this. Pork chops on the grill topped with pineapple salsa. Yum.
  3. Roasted bell peppers. It’s like this girl can read my mind. These are so tasty and versatile. I’ll be using them in Saturday morning egg scrambles, in soups, and there may even be a new dip recipe milling around in my brain. Hmmmm….
  4. Misty’s all-purpose seasoning. Perfect for, um, everything. ‘nuff said.
  5. Sweet plantain chips. These were devoured in about 2.2 seconds. Apparently, they rock. I’m going to have to find myself a few more bags of these in a hurry.
  6. Dorothy Lynch dressing. I have seen this in the grocery store and it piqued my interest but I had never bought it. I eat salads almost every day for lunch and am always looking for new tasty dressings. Love this stuff – I can see many different uses for it too.
  7. Wasabi almonds. Impeccable choice, since the hubs and I go through about 2lbs of almonds a week.

Thanks to Sally for the killer box of YUM!

…And a special thanks to Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean for coordinating!

WANNA PARTICIPATE IN FOODIE PEN PALS??

Here are some details about Foodie Penpals.  In case you’re a new reader, this is what the program is all about:

-On the 5th of every month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.

-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!

-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!

-You are responsible for figuring out the best way to ship your items depending on their size and how fragile they are. (Don’t forget about flat rate boxes!)

-Foodie Penpals is open to blog readers as well as bloggers. If you’re a reader and you get paired with a blogger, you are to write a short guest post for your penpal to post on their blog about what you received. If two readers are paired together, neither needs to worry about writing a post for that month.

-Foodie Penpals is open to US & Canadian residents.  Please note, Canadian Residents will be paired with other Canadians only. We’ve determined things might get too slow and backed up if we’re trying to send foods through customs across the border from US to Canada and vice versa.

If you’re interested in participating, please CLICK HERE to fill out the participation form and read the terms and conditions.
